Good to know. It's nice to hear your opinions on this. Helps to figure out the best way to go about it. The last session is almost double-length. I'd say enjoy it, but... um, read it and you'll see. Volume 7 will begin March 16 and will likely start out as a once-a-week plan. Maybe over the summer when my schedule opens up a bit, I'll be able to get far enough ahead to return to twice a week. The second half of the story takes things in a completely different direction, which should be pretty exciting. Thanks for your patience with all this and your feedback! And I'll make sure to post AACS in the next week or two when Wednesday rolls around and I'll feel like I have to update something.

Sorry about that. I'm chair for a convention now and things have been pretty busy between that and a couple other projects. I'm trying to decide whether to switch to a once-a-week format or hold off on starting book seven until I have a proper backlog that will allow me to stick with twice-a-week more regularly.

Added a couple more examples to the Magic Wand trope, and got Lucidrol to the list (creating a backlink on the Translator Microbes page!)

Awesome! I'll have a few additions to throw onto the list, considering each of the primary characters is an intentional play on a different trope.

Not quite two weeks left. Here's another preview!
Undeterred, Donovan faced Molly and Troy. “So how shall we celebrate our victory?”
Molly turned to him and scoffed. “You are out of your right mind if you think we should celeb-”
The doorbell rang. Donovan summoned Bryce, who mumbled about being summoned for door duty twice in a row, but opened it anyway.
It was Meg and Giles, the latter carrying pizza. “Has the party started yet or are we too early?”
“Party?” Molly stood up and stared them down- a difficult thing from that distance. “Who said anything about a party?”
Giles entered the room and handed the pizzas to Bryce. “Well, now that all this is over, we thought we'd stop by Reggie's to celebrate, but he said the pre-party was up here.”
“Pre-party?” Renee asked.
Morgan smiled at her. “Yeah, you know. We start out here, loosen up a bit and get in the mood... then we head downstairs and really have some fun. The pre-party.”
Troy shook his head. “Sorry, but after all that, I don't see why-.”
“Nonsense!” Donovan threw his hands around Giles and Morgan. “We must relish our moments of triumph!”
“You hate Reggie's room!”
“Indeed, but victories of this magnitude call for such revelry! For once, we shall go forth into the baccanalia!”
“Good call, Donny!” exclaimed Reggie. He and his girls were right behind. They had stacks of bottles. “Although old Bacchus himself probably couldn't handle the stuff we're busting out.”
Now Molly was stepping in. “Might I remind you that my unit is underage. Besides, there is no alcohol allowed in the dorm.”
“Alcohol?!” Reggie laughed heartily. “Honey, I'm not the kind of guy who'd serve you guys alcohol.”
That seemed to calm Molly down. “At least you have some sense of-”
“This stuff makes alcohol look like Juicy Juice!” Reggie handed her a bottle. “Here, try some!”
Molly passed, but Morgan was quick to pull the trigger. In any rate, the party was starting in Room 202, whether its denizens requested it or not.

The rescue is a success, the team has returned safely and the demon threat seems to have subsided. Unfortunately, they forgot about real life, and the school that has descended into anarchy. Molly suddenly finds herself out of power, and unable to control her school, her unit or her sister's developing feelings for Troy. Troy, meanwhile, doesn't question his decision in the dungeon... until Molly finds out, threatening to tear the entire unit apart. On top of all this, the Hokoni learn of Kendrick's fate and Donovan figures squarely into their search for vengeance! Coming June 23- Magical Security Taskforce Volume 6: "The Melancholy Of Molly Pearson."
And a special treat for you forum members... a sneak peak at Volume Six! Look for more scenes on the forums throughout the break.
Molly usually arrived a little early every day to monitor everybody's arrivals and assure the populace that Big Sister was watching. On this first day back, she showed up even earlier. She knew she'd have a week's worth of paperwork to catch up on and no lackey to handle it for her.
Thankfully, Renee volunteered to help out her sister. Hesitant as Molly usually was to delegate government affairs to non-council members, she appreciated the help.
“Hey, that's what sisters are for!” Renee said as they reached the entrance.
Molly snickered. “You know, we have an open secretary position.”
“That's actually tempting if I don't go out for golf in the spring.”
“You've never golfed before.”
“Well, I missed the winter season so...” Renee trailed off when she saw two volleyballs mounted on javelins just outside the main entrance. Someone had painted angry faces on them. The sisters shrugged at each other and stepped inside, suddenly hushed.
The interior had gotten additional decorations as well, although not as vicious as the volleyball heads. The walls were covered from floor to ceiling with posters for various clubs. They all seemed incredibly stylized and more imperative than Renee could recall. She didn't remember the Spanish Club using Che Guevara in its campaigns before. Still, most of them were for normal clubs, save for one billing itself as the 'People's Council.'
Renee shook her head. “I always thought your poster policy was a little draconic, but now I see why.”
Molly sighed and continued down the hallway. Perhaps she'd have more trouble catching up from the lost week than she thought.

I know "crowning moment of awesome" has appeared in at least one of the home page session teasers.
And Yami, I've been imagining an MST TV Tropes page since my last fanfic got one.

The weird thing is that people only seem to post here when someone dies dramatically. I'd develop a plan to increase forum use, but then Volume Six will have more arbitrary deaths than the last Harry Potter book.

Forty chapters down, forty to go... it's the official halfway point of Magical Security Taskforce!
Thanks to everybody for reading, commenting and participating here. It's a lot of work to write the story, and it's gratifying to see people enjoying it.
Rather than concentrate on the specific goings-on of the current volume, I'm interested in getting your thoughts on the story as a whole so far. It's been a long time since that first hell hound and I want to know what you all think: best moments, favorite story arcs, favorite characters, stuff they can't stand (TroyxMarie notwithstanding), anything. There's a lot of story left and I want to make it enjoyable.
(Also, as evidenced by Meg over there, there are now gaia avatars for the new characters introduced in chapter 40)

Yep, MST is based off a BESM RPG Matt ran several years ago. I had absolutely no idea how RPGs operated when the whole thing started... which might explain Troy's personality somewhat.
I haven't done a whole lot since, but I enjoy the simplicity of the BESM system. Not much compared to two of my co-workers- one plays MUDs and one plays GURPS extensively.
