So if I'm correct, Magical Security Taskforce was based on a RPG so then I'm wondering if any other members of this forum roleplay as well be it LARPing, text based roleplaying, table top, or some other type. And if so, how long have you been doing so?
Personally I do a lot (emphasis on lot) of text based roleplaying and have been for three years.

Yep, MST is based off a BESM RPG Matt ran several years ago. I had absolutely no idea how RPGs operated when the whole thing started... which might explain Troy's personality somewhat.
I haven't done a whole lot since, but I enjoy the simplicity of the BESM system. Not much compared to two of my co-workers- one plays MUDs and one plays GURPS extensively.

Ah I see xD I'm not entirely familiar with BESM, though after reading up a bit I have the gist of the idea. And wow aha. They're pretty hardcore

I spend most of my RP time doing tabletop RP, but have also been involved with various online text RP ventures.
I was wondering how unique the magic system in MST is, is it from the BESM rules? I am wondering because some of my friends and I are developing a homebake game and the system in MST (ie. thrusters weavers and crafters, and the trigger mechanism) seems to fit quite nicely in the scheme of things.
